Abu Ghraib, October 20, 2002 Shortly after state-run Iraqi television announced that President Saddam Hussein was giving amnesty to all inmates in Iraqi jails, friends and relatives of inmates converged on the Abu Ghraib prison. Clapping, singing and praising Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, thousands overran guards and pushed inside. Many people brought posters or framed photographs of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
